Steve’s Biography

Steve McClure is a conservative Republican who supports traditional family values, the Second Amendment, and fiscal responsibility.  He served the public for nearly six years as an assistant state’s attorney in Sangamon County. He now wants to bring his conservative principles to state government to create an environment that allows businesses to prosper and to turn our state around. Throughout his life Steve has been dedicated to Republican causes and involved with many local and national campaigns.

As a prosecutor, he was the chief of the Juvenile Division in the state’s attorney’s office where he protected kids from abusive parents, helped turn young lives around, and protected our community. Steve then moved to the Felony Division where he prosecuted violent criminals and fought to protect our most vulnerable citizens who were exploited financially. He was not intimidated by dangerous criminals in the courtroom and won’t be intimidated by special interest groups in the capitol. Steve recently resigned his position at the state’s attorney’s office in Springfield to run for the Illinois State Senate.
